Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light Preview
As you all know, whenever a Final Fantasy game gets ported in for the Nintendo DS, there’s going to be a LOT of screen tapping which, I think is a refresher to JRPGs and Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light supports the kind of simplistic motion that new FF fans must get accustomed with.
What looks like characters ripped from the Popolocrois dimension, The 4 Heroes of Light is a RPG – first-hand experiences from gamers who’ve attended this year’s recently concluded E3 judged the game as a Harvest Moon simulation because of the introductory scenes. I, too, was confused whether this DS exclusive is going to steer away from turn-based combat and embrace farming as its core gameplay objective.
Thankfully, Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light retains the concept of adventurous parties who set out on a cleansing mission ordered by the king of Horne. Brandt, the party leader agrees to slay a Minotaur and along with his three cronies, they toddle around with their infant-like steps and dispatch goblins and Jack-o-Lanterns along the way.
The combat system is quite unique in its own way – offensive moves are streamlined as Attack and Boost and players order Brandt and the others with commands ranging from physical attacks and magic. SquareEnix has yet to give the public a full preview of the cute handheld game.
Final Fantasy 4: The Heroes of Light will be available for the Nintendo DS this October 2010.
